Rivers is active leader in career QB Rating
Wow. That's pretty impressive when you think about the careers of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
When you look at names 1 through 8 on this list, you see 6 guys that are either retired or "veterans" and they are all either in the Hall of Fame or well on their way. The other two guys are Philip Rivers and Tony Romo, who are both young but are very talented. If they can keep up this level of production, each of them could end up in the Hall themselves.
Thanks goes to Natrone Bomb for picking up on this one.

The game has changed
and in my opinion it is much more passer friendly now. Trying to compare the numbers of QBs who played 15 or 20 years ago to the numbers put up by QBs today is just not valid.

Not sure about this wiki-list.
And it doesn’t have Aaron Rodgers.

He probably doesn't qualify yet
It’s a rate stat so you need to have a minimum number of some criteria otherwise you’ll get guys with 3 passes for 3 TDs in there.

Need 1,500 attempts to qualify

Well ...
Congratulations to Philip Rivers … and he is a good quarterback. But while this is interesting I noticed that Terry Bradshaw, Otto Graham, John Unitas, John Elway, Joe Namath and Bob Griese are way down the list. Chad Pennington, however, is #10. I think that might tell us something about QB rating.
Nothing any of us shouldn't already know
QB rating doesn’t really measure anything.
What does the difference between someone with 90 vs a 95 QB rating mean? Sure, it probably means one guy is better than the other, but how much better? Of course, maybe he’s always throwing against the 2008 Lions and we should take it with a grain of salt? Or maybe he plays in an era where the rules let the CBs push WRs out of the way to get INTs?
It’s probably better than some raw stats, but it’s a stat based on nothing but the concepts that throwing for more yards to catch is good, throwing more TDs than Ints is good and throw completed passes is good. Beyond that, you shouldn’t look too hard at it.

John...Portis Might be retiring
Hey,
I might need to go to the last Chargers game wearing my 26. Please Chargers fans, don’t beat me up, it’s just to see Clinton Portis (not suited up) on the side lines one last game. Let me know what you think John.
Romo can't hold Rivers jock
What these stats don’t show is how far ahead Rivers is in terms of leadership, heart, & competitiveness.

These stats don't show that and...
They don’t show anything else either.
