Predicting the Score by the Numbers

This week is really a throw away week, the Chargers will go with a simple game plan and will most likely sit most of their key players in the 2nd half (here's to hoping that there may be a Chuck Whitehurst sighting), while the Redskins players will most likely be sneaking off early to the locker room to check and see what kind of deals priceline has to Maui starting January 4th.   My perdition is that this game will be boring, sloppy and short, to see what the score should have been if both teams had a reason to play click below.

Star-divide

So far this season the Redskins have score on average 16.4 points per game and have allowed an average of 20.9 points per game.   The Redskins opponents have scored 21.2 points and allowed 22.6 points per game on average thus far this season.   If you compare these two sets of numbers you can see that the Redskins have scored 6.2 fewer points per game than their opponent's average and have allowed 0.3 fewer points per game than their opponent's average.

I remember Arrowhead Pride linking to that post and calling you completely insane.

you missed by one?

When we were sittin at 2-3 and the donkeys at 6-0 I told my good friend the Cowboy fan we would win out to 13-3 and the Donkeys would collapse to a 9-7 record. I really mean that by the way, not saying it as hindsight. I also bet a friend of mine who’s giving me 20 since I told him the 6-0 start was a fluke and a 10 win season wouldnt happen! (though I didn’t tell him we’d finish 13-3, I said 11-5) I feel good!

I said we would win out while we were 2-3.

At the time, I didn’t really believe it.

Banned from Arrowhead Pride... and Music City Miracles certainly don't like me very much, either.

Yea I think most of us would say it out of blind confidence and the fact that we didn’t want to accept the reality of being below .500
but after beating the eagles I realized that my crazy 13-3/9-7 prediction could come true… and I felt good about it.

I'll admit it, when they were 2-3

I was getting ready to write a maybe its time to get rid of Norv article…man I’m glad I didn’t.

by Grey Suit on Dec 31, 2009 11:35 AM PST reply actions

that would be difficult

sitting at 2-3 everyone wanted to blame Norv, but personally, I didn’t. I knew it was more than coaching. The number of injuries going into the bye week looked like a year end summary. half the starters were banged and beaten up. I knew Norv and Ron would turn things around after the bye week, I never doubted them. Now, I actually applaud what they were able to do as far as adjusting on the fly. Especially Ron Rivera. Going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 AND he had to make the dline work without a real nose tackle, and a recovering star OLB? If Norv gets coach of the year, Ron should get D-coordinator of the year. I hold that man in incredibly high respect after what he’s done. Can’t wait to see how amazing the D is next year. I see a top 10 run, pass, and scoring defense thats also top 10 in turnovers for the 2010 season!

I will admit when we were 2-3

I had my doubts about Rivera. The defense was way too vanilla at that point, and I had serious doubts about his ability to run a 3-4 defense. Obviously that’s not the case. Sorry Ron!

It wassn't really that he was a bad coach

it was did he deserve an extension or not.

The team looked progressively worse each year, but they pulled it together and have been on fire since.

scott & B.R.

I enjoy Scott and Billy Ray talking about the chargers great insight and very funny, however I like the saw also.i wish Scotter Pie would lighten up on the saw man. Just four more wins and its a done deal, this team is on the rise cool! Glad to see the Bolts have recovered from the thrashing the Raiders gave them in game 1
