Chargers/Titans Injury Report

Make no mistake about it, this matchup on Christmas is an important game for both the Chargers and the Titans.  There's plenty of bad feelings between the teams, which is a part of it, but mostly it has to do with both teams needing a win to either stay alive in the playoffs or to clinch a playoff bye.  There's also the idea that the Chargers would like nothing more than to take this very long winning streak (now at 9 games) into the playoffs.

With that being said, in important games you can read injury reports a little different.  "Probable" means the guy will play.  "Questionable" means he's a game-time decision, and will play if it's absolutely necessary.  Anything below that and the guy won't be playing.  So even though Shawne Merriman didn't practice all week, him being listed as "Probable" for the game means that he'll be on that field on the first play.  It also means his foot is probably worse than him, or the team, has let on to this point.

The full injury report for both teams is after the jump.

Pretty sure that Nick will play

but should he, given the Titans’ cheap-shotting ways?

Nick should treat it like a preseason game

Play 1 quarter and then maybe get a series or two in the second half. It won’t hurt to get Norman lots of reps at center since he will likely see some time between here and the SB since my man Mooch is on IR.

You have no idea how lucky you are that Nick Harper is playing

instead of Rod Hood

Lurker coming in from the cold

Merry Christmas all! I got just about everything I wanted, so a 10 game winning streak would just about wrap things up. Been a tough time rooting for the Chargers all these years from NY and TX.

substitutions

Yeah, I think I would let lots of back ups see some playing time. Especially ones playing behind nicked up players. This is not a must win. It is a want really bead win though. I hope rivera has a good game plan for today to limit the titans scoring.

In this case good defense = good offense

It’s been said better elsewhere, but the best defense is to score quick and keep the Titans off the ground. Lock everything up this week, and have two weeks to rest everyone up.

I must disagree

With CJ being the home run threat that he is, fast scores won’t necessarily make TN go away from him.

It’s going to be windy, which hurts our downfield game. I think we need to put together sustained drives & keep the TN offense off the field as much as possible.
