After placing Shaun Rogers on the injured reserve earlier in the week, it was announced today that S Brodney Pool and RB Jamal Lewis were placed on the injured reserve. Pool going on the injured reserve wasn't too much of a surprise. It was revealed after Sunday's game that he suffered a head injury, which wasn't good news considering his history of concussions.

Lewis going on the injured reserve came out of left field. It is being reported that Lewis, like Pool, also suffered a head injury against the Bengals. Earlier in the offseason, Lewis told the media that this would be his final season in the NFL. If he holds true to his word, then his career will not have ended on a bright spot. The Browns are currently tied for the worst record in football at 1-10, and on the season Lewis was averaging a mere 3.5 yards per carry without a single touchdown. While our quarterbacks weren't efficient enough to give Lewis enough opportunities, Lewis never appeared to hit the hole very well this season.

Yikes. I usually get nervous when games look too easy, but this matchup continues to become less and less worrisome. Even for me.

Good

Starting in January they’ll be meeting us when we’re their worst nightmare.

Titans and Bengals

Denver got them at the best possible time.

We still have a couple weeks to go but right now it looks like those will be much, much tougher matchups than anyone ever thought.

actually, correction

I don’t know why I thought Denver played the Titans. They didn’t.

But regardless, the Titans looked like a cakewalk the first couple games of the season. Now I’m afraid of that matchup.

I'm not

They’ve beaten up on some of the worst defenses in football (ARI, HOU, BUF). They beat a Leinart-led Cardinals team by 3 points on a last-second TD. Their offense is still not that good.

They’re not like playing the Browns or Chiefs, which some people thought they would be, but they’re not nearly as good as the Bengals are. Also, the Bengals could still implode.

I'm still waiting

For the Bengals to get eaten alive by injury issues. They’ve been creeping up on them, but not quite to implosion stage yet.

Two more games before we play them.

There’s still time.

I thought the Odom injury would be their doom. Now I’m thinking Benson’s injuries have to eventually hurt them.

I also would have no fear of facing them in the playoffs. Marvin Lewis is an awful coach.

Chris Johnson scares

I’m pretty sure that he scares most DC’s right now.
