FOX Sports’ Alex Marvez is reporting that Chris Henry is on life support in a Charlotte hospital after being throwing from a pick-up truck Wednesday afternoon. Marvez is told that the situation is "dire."

UPDATE: Chris Henry has died from his injuries. Instead of posting your thoughts below, I implore you to go to Cincy Jungle and do it there. As Kirkendall says in his post, these players become like family to the fans. It's going to be an emotional week/game for Bengals fans.

That sucks

I know he’s messed up a lot in the past, but it seems like he was trying to turn things around and its always a bummer to hear about anyone in dire straits.

conjecture

seems like he’s intubated and sedated. He most likely hit his head (a la chick hearn) and swelling is a problem. I wish him all the best.

R.I.P. Chris Henry

I really don’t mean to be insensitive about the situation, but, this can’t be good for the Chargers, they’re going to get a very desperate and inspired Bengals team that’s going to be playing for Chris Henry.

The Bengals won the game

after their DC’s wife died this year albeit by just a FG. It wasn’t a Brett-Favre’s-dad-dying sort of blowout.

I always think these can go either way. Either you empower yourself to go out and “win one for the Gipper” or you are so emotionally drained from the ordeal that its difficult to summon the emotions you need to play at the highest level.

Yup

I tend to think the emotional games can be won at home (or close by), but the long trip plus the emotions just drains you entirely. I guess we’ll see.

I was trying to make my mind up figuring how it’d affect the Bengals’ performance, but at the end of the day it’s pointless trying to guess. Plus I have faith we can win whatever Bengals shows up as long as w execute like we’ve been doing.

thats suck R.I.P.

The bengals r gonna release all their anger on us and I think the chargers will lose

I don't think so.

The Chargers will come out playing. They’re an incredibly even-keeled team. The Bengals might play with extra fire, but it won’t last four quarters and these Chargers aren’t susceptible to early blowouts: even if they give up a big lead they’ll get it back.
