I really have no idea where this drawing came from. This might be a decade old. However, it was attached to a story about the downtown stadium (that we were promised drawings of a month ago) and it looks freaking amazing.

Conspicuously absent from the drawing?

Where is the horribly placed scoreboard that Scifres will destroy?
Our collective lack of productivity has clearly paid off in the grandest of fashion. We are going to Pasadena. Yes, let that sink in. WE ARE GOING TO PASADENA. To be honest, this has not yet hit me-WE ARE GOING TO PASADENA. Wow.
Juju, We applaud your devotion and pure decency throughout the season.
I like the idea of Scifres punting it out of the stadium, which seems very possible from that drawing.

This drawing
looks like the ones that were made a while ago when they were still considering the Mission Valley site. You can see the trolley line, and the San Diego River.

I thought it might be
I think, with the downtown spot, the stadium is going to end up looking/feeling like Qwest Field without the roof. I’m more than okay with that, and it’s certainly an improvement over Qualcomm.

Maestro's right
This was one of the concept drawings from the old proposal to redevelop the Qualcomm site. According to a previous article, Fabiani said that the downtown stadium propsal would have all of the luxury boxes on one side of the stadium (similar to Ford Field in Detroit). In the downtown site, space is an issue, but Seattle had similar issues with Qwest Field – Qwest fits in the space allotted for a stadium east of Petco Park. The Chargers haven’t released any concept drawings for the downtown site yet.

I seem to recall
Seeing at least one design for a Chargers stadium that looked a lot like Qwest Field. No idea where I saw it though.

I've always been a big fan of the half-sunken bowl
The “walls” of the stadium don’t have to be so high (I don’t like a stadium to dominate a skyline – granted the “skyline” I’m used to is Lincoln, NE where the stadium is dominant), but you still get the same large-stadium feeling inside. It’s also pretty cool to be walking at street level and be able to see inside the bowl itself, like the endzone design in this drawing. That’s a little more of a college feel, like Faurot Field at Mizzou.
Good-looking design.

Wow.
they can have money from my paycheck every week for a stadium like that.
Like I said though
That’s not even the public money they are asking for (unless you work for the city).
