"Get on board early," Black said, alluding to, what he feels, is a crop of up-and-coming players.

"I would tell those fans that we're going to play good baseball. We're going to play hard. We're going to have exciting young players..." -Bud Black

Giants 27 - Chargers 23

It’ll be a nice sunny day so expect the long ball. Just don’t expect the Chargers to pound in more than 2 TDs. I foresee Chargers with at least 3 field goals.

Why

make a public prediction in favor of the Giants if you’re an SD fan? For the reverse jinx? It just feels like going to a sportsbook in Vegas and putting down money against your own team.

Predicting who will win

and rooting for a team to win are two seperate things. I want the Padres to win the World Series each season, but if you ask me to predict which team will win it I will probalby not pick the Padres.

I will be cheering for the Chargers Sunday big time, and I hope they win. But that has nothing to do with trying to predict the final score of the game. If you are ever in Vegas I hope that you put your money on who you think will win not on who you want to win.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
