Went looking around...

Found it just a moment ago under FanShots. To the victor go the spolis.

I guess that they really do want some veteran help.

We’ll see what happens

But I think what they are most concerned about is that if McNeill were to get hurt (even for just a series or two) Dombo would have suddenly go to LT and the inexperienced Clark would end up at RT.

Reminds me of the Ravens playing with Willie Anderson last year.

Yay. Good news. I was wondering if they were going to do this.

Still, they should draft an OT in the top two rounds next year. Runyan is no spring chicken, Clary is good but far from irreplaceable, Clark is a question-mark.

Don't know that I called it

but I certainly asked for it.

What’s to lose? If he works out, great. If he doesn’t, he’s still a vet presence. Vasquez can learn from him & he can help us get over the hump.

If it all it costs us is a SB ring, deal of the century!!!

I assume this is a Dennis Norman type signing.

I don't think so.

Sounds like they actually want him to start.

Here's what Acee has to say.
If he passes their physical, the Chargers would hope Runyan’s experience would make up for whatever decline there has been in his skills. They would prefer to not have to make a playoff run with first-year player Brandyn Dombrowski at right tackle.

Wow. I wouldn’t think you’d want a guy who hasn’t played since last year to be starting at right tackle during a playoff run. Shows what I know.

Okay. That at least makes sense.

It will be good to have a vet on the team.

It could work out well. Especially because he won’t have to hold up a whole season.

Obviously he’s going to have to learn the line calls and protections, which I would think would take a week or two.

And, being out for so long and coming off of injury, one would assume he would need to get a couple weeks of practice in to get back to game shape. It is one thing to work out on your own, another to play at the highest level.

If Runyan is recovered from surgery, I feel like he will do a credible job. It is just coming off of major surgery, it is hard to know what to expect until he plays in a real live game.
