Chris Chambers has been released -- ka

Holy Moly, didn't see this one coming.

Will add a LB in the next few days...Norv says Kassim Osgood will get work at receiver now (Go Aztecs!) and maybe Buster (lolz).

Holy Crap

That is surprising.

Wow, that's pretty shocking.

Good news for Buster, and probably good news for Chambers. If he wasn’t going to play much for us, at least he can sign on with another team and get his act together.

I really, reall hope

that Davis can get some snaps now.

We're boned.

Quality move by the Chargers FO

Chambers was toast and it was in his best interest to be able to try to catch on with another team and it was in the Chargers best interest to keep him off the field. It’s also nice for him that he had a big catch in his last Charger game. It’s a good play that may help convince a talent evaluator that he could help their team.

I assume this also helps the Chargers financially in some way, perhaps to help sign some of their guys.

Oh

It also gives the Chargers a roster spot and methinks they need an ILB.

Yeah.

I wonder if Beckwith will get a shot.

We're boned.

They have 2 LBs on the PS

Beckwith and Holt. I know Beckwith is an ILB, I want to say Holt play OLB in preseason. So, unless they bring in a veteran (no clue who that could be), Beckwith makes the most sense.

You are correct

Holt was a rusher from the OLB spot in the preseason.

This seemed inevitable

but I wonder if Chambers’ comment about being “disrespected” by Norv had anything to do with getting cut today instead of in a week or two?

Or maybe it’s really just because they needed the roster spot for someone to take Dobbins spot for a couple of weeks.

I think it's cuz he can't catch footballs with his hands

and finally catching one yesterday wasn’t enough to make up for all the other drops.

Wow

pretty surprised. Osgood and Davis now get their shot. Nanee will see even more time.

I just didn’t think they would cut someone this late into the season.

They usually won't

because they still have to pay 100% of his salary. This move was made because they need more bodies.
