Just when you thought the Chiefs couldn't get any worse. As a reminder, the Chargers play the Chiefs on Nov. 29, which would coincide with the 2nd game of the suspension. Also, I have to wonder if the Chiefs knew this was coming when they claimed Chambers.

That makes next week’s game a little easier. Anyone else think Jammer is going to shut out Chambers?

Or a lot easier

From Football Outsider’s take on Cassel’s week 10 performance:

It’s scary to imagine what Cassel’s season would look like without Dwayne Bowe. 13 of Cassel’s 40 dropbacks resulted in throws to Bowe, accruing six first downs in the process through four completions and two defensive pass interference calls. (Bowe also fumbled the ball forward for about 15 yards in the game’s most prominent Keystone Kops moment.) Cassel’s other 27 dropbacks resulted in a total of three first downs: Two to Chris Chambers, who barely knows the playbook, and one to Lance Long.

that sucks...

that guy’s got crazy talent and no amount of anything is gonna turn that whole team around…i wonder what he tested postive for, specifically

"that wasn't a very good start to us getting our lives together. i didn't even go to work today."

Since they are saying performance enhancer

It basically has to be a steroid, a steroid precursor (like Andro) or a masking agent. Most likely a masking agent since it would seem really, really foolish to be taking that stuff without trying to mask it.

right...

i just wonder if it was like the star caps deal, where it was something new or not listed on the product label, but none of that matters in the court of public opinion

At this point

I basically can’t believe anyone that uses that excuse. It’s become like the dog-eating-my-homework or stuck-in-traffic excuses. I’m sure it happens, but no one believes it. And even if it did happen, it seems pretty easy to prevent.

What?

Does anyone actually believe them?

I turned that assignment in on time, but I had to do it twice, so that sucked.

I remember thinking, “wait, this doesn’t really happen.”

There ya go

See, he didn’t actually use the excuse, because he re-did the homework. If I get all metaphor-y that’s akin to the NFL player buying a tainted supplement, then checking the list and realizing he shouldn’t take it. He didn’t need the excuse because he didn’t actually fail the test. Thus, my “easy to prevent” remark.

My dog

has eaten my wife’s students (she is an elementary school teacher) homework more than once.

This would be much funnier without the word "homework"

I too was kinda shocked when I discovered the average age of the main posters here

Including John (obviousman).

I’m 37, btw. I’ve seen far too many heart-breaking Chargers years, which is why I don’t (and didn’t) get down on a 2-3 start.

yup

im older than 37 but I feel much younger or im immature. I’ve been a fan since the late 70’s during the dan fouts era, my family had season tix. there have been many very long years when SD was just horrible. I love this particular Chargers teams. Is it me or does mike tolbert run like natrone means ?

i go...

To a pretty good sports bar here in springfield whenever I need to catch a game and there’s a lot of chiefs and cowboys fans but I haven’t had any problems with anyone. I don’t go for that anyway and one of my friends bartends so he’ll put the game wherever I post up at. I’m 29, so I guess I’m inbetween on the age range. Born in escondido and moved out here to chief country in middle school. Best excuse ever, put the wrong date for the assignment in your planner if its not something you were just told about

Apparently

Bowe knew about the suspension 2 weeks before it was made public. So, I assume the Chiefs knew as well and the Chambers signing was definitely related.
