Poor choice of words for someone who makes a living writing

Definition of winningest, right out of the dictionary:

having achieved the most wins the winningest coach in football>

Ross, Schottenheimer, Coryell and Gillman all have more wins than Norv.

Something like “Most efficient winner in Chargers history” would have been more appropriate.

I'm in the 'Come on guys, Norv isn't so bad' club...

My friend at work and I get into an argument about it almost every Monday. However, his point this week is something too obvious to ignore….let the guy coach a few more years before he’s dubbed something like this and is expected to have it taken seriously.

On a side note, I asked, “What will it take for you, and in your perception, other Charger fans to change their opinion of Norville?” He told me, “Superbowl appearance and a strong start to next season.”

I feel like the expectation for this team has become so great that you’d think we already had a few championships. That’s not a bad thing.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish.

It’s not like it’s an honorary title. It’s just a fact.

I know..

But it does seem like the local media did a good job of having the fact ready to shout from the mountain top.

Of course they did

Much like putting natural disasters and gruesome car wrecks on the front page, putting this fact up there is intended as a way to shock and awe the public. That’s just journalism for you.

“designer sunglasses may not be worth the price. more at 11”

i don’t remember which channel did that piece, but it’s sure to win the hell out of a local emmy.

Well, it’s sort of a big deal. Isn’t it?
