Another week, another matchup of traded top picks

Last week, much was made about that fateful day in 2004, when the fans lustily booed Eli every time his face popped up on the big screens around the stage.  I was doing the same thing at my house, but I could only boo between fits of hysterical laughter as I watched that guy get the treatment he so richly deserved.

So naturally there was a lot of coverage of the matchup between these guys and much debate about who was better than who, and who would have the better game, etc.

This week we have a similar situation, where the particulars in a blockbuster draft day trade of two of the top 5 picks get to square off against one another.

That's right, I'm talking about the ol' 1 for 5, Vick for LT deal from 2001.

It's understandable that this matchup is not getting as much run as Philip/Eli, but I'm curious as to who you guys think will have a better game.

Personally, I think its a tossup whether Vick gets as many yards in his 2 or 3 snaps as LT will get all day (just kidding), but nevermind what I think.  I want to hear the experts debate.

None of the above. 2001 4th round compensatory pick Brandon Manumaleuna is going to have a better game than either one of those guys.

Tim Dwight might end up with more yards on Sunday…

I want to see LT finally produce a decent ypc,

But it will not happen this week…LT=21 carries 47 yards.

Defense, Im talking to you! You want to kill this Osweiler fella...Come on defense, FOCUS god dammit!

I respect you Juju, you and your gorgeous brilliance

Not exactly a prime opportunity either

The Eagles defense is ranked 12 in run defense by DVOA (they are #1 against the pass and #1 overall, yikes), but it’s a solid 12th (i.e. the teams ahead of them are really good at run defense). Let’s put it this way, they’ve been as good at stopping the run this year as the Chargers have been bad at stopping the run.

Exactly.

From the Eagles games I have seen this season, Our Oline/LT will not have a productive game. Simply put, thier defense suffocates the run; not as if that is very tough to do to us Bolts :(

Week 6 of 2004

is the only time that they have met I believe. For what it is worth, which is nothing, here is how they did.

ATL 21 SD 20
Vick 12 / 21 passing 218 yds and 2 tds. 9 carries for 35 yds and 1 td
LT 23 carries for 64 yds and 1 td 4 receptions for 16 yds

I remember that game

Vick basically put on the superman cape and won it for the Falcons. I have visions of him tiptoeing down the sideline for a huge gain on the Falcons final drive.

Unfortunately

I don’t think either will be a huge factor, but LT in space or the goaline wildcat may produce some decent yards or a score.
