Binn Packing It In?
Over at Cincy Jungle there's a quickie article [Link: http://www.cincyjungle.com/2009/10/8/1077254/bengals-have-invited-four-non] about the carousel of long-snappers the Bengals have going, wherein it is mentioned that ex-Texan Bryan Pittman worked out with the Chargers this Tuesday. Has he mentioned retiring yet, or are they looking to replace him? Is Pittman a prospective backup? Or were the scouts just bored one day and screwing with this guy?

The day Binn retires into a plateu of retired-greatness...
Will be the day I metaphorically die
I hate knee injuries.
The masses have spoken, Kevin Prince it is!
Perhaps we could teach Lege-dude to be a long snapper?
Fast guy, good blocker, probably not a bad hitter either.

Can we PLEASE draft Ali Villanueva of Army this year??? I'd mortgage a kidney for a tackle/wideout hybrid.

In my opinion
Binn belongs in the Hall of Fame. Hands down. No one long-snaps like he does. It’s been years since we’ve had a bad snap. The guy is the best, most consistent, most durable long-snapper in the history of the game.
Plus the dude gets down the field and makes tackles. He ain’t no push-over.

It would be very cool to see him in the HOF,
I can only imagine that it is rare for a L.S to be inducted…May as well be Binn!!!

Absolutely.
Although with Ray Guy still waiting for his day, Binn’s is probably far off in the distance…

This is correct
if the best-ever punter can’t get in, there’s no chance in hell that the arguably best-ever guy who snaps him the ball is getting in.

I don't feel nearly the level of outrage you do

It's actually not a large amount of outrage.
Most of my sports-outrage is directed towards baseball umpires. And Major League Baseball in general.

Pittman
he could’ve been working out as a Center or Guard, and not necessarily a Long Snapper. They wouldn’t keep 2 Long Snappers on the team.

Maybe...
…but at 6’3", 265 lbs., he seems a bit undersized to play the O-line. Eh, maybe center.

Centers and Guards aren't naturally 300 lbs
They are probably guys Binn’s size who make themselves that big. I have no problem believing that if team’s saw potential in him as a G or C, he could have binn one.

what does this say about brandon siler's development as a long-snapper?
he must not be doin so well.
Huh. All things considered, it seems like the Bolts are shopping for replacement linemen on the cheap.
Bring in a guy at a long-snapper’s price, tell him to play guard… brilliant.

everything that's wrong with this team.
bring in a long snapper, and telling him to play guard, and watch him get rolled over, blown up, knocked down, or just plain pimp slapped, by opposing defenses. brilliant.
The peanut gallery has spoken!!!
I think this was strictly injury insurance stuff.
They also tried out some kickers and punters, IIRC. Seems like they’re just paranoid with all the guys going down lately.
maybe the need to look for a new strength and conditioning coach?
