they just saw the defense play too…we’ll get better…as reserved as i am about norv and our d right now, i still know this team is playoff bound, we just need to be healthy when we get there

the Chargers played defense?
I must’ve missed that part.

On two drives
That was all the defense i saw.

Defense has been hot/cold.
Mostly cold to start. This team needs to start better all around. Hold ‘em out the first drive, score in the first drive, and keep your foot on the offensive pedal as the spotty defense allows a little action here and stops a little there. That’s the best we can hope for: fortunately, history says it’s sometimes good enough to win the big one.

I think the problem we used to have with Marty
was we never did that we did get up early but always crumbled late, Martyball is physical but it was always the safe way not keeping the foot on the pedal like we should have.

that's mostly right
his method was once they got a lead, to run out the clock. those 4th quarter “collapses” happened because they stopped scoring.

Myth.
Don’t get me wrong. Defense and running are great, and help win championships. But a running-oriented defensive team is more likely to make the playoffs and flame out, at least these days (supposedly that was once not true).

16 about right right now.
If I had to take a stab at end-of-season power ranking, I’d guess we’ll crack the top 6. But for now, this is a 2-2 team with obvious advantages and obvious issues. If 16 is a little low, it’s only a litte.

We’ll rise over the bye week if Denver loses. If we beat Denver, we’ll crack the top 12, regardless of whether they beat NE or not. If we lose to Denver, we’ll be in the early twenties, because we’ll be longshots for the postseason.

Not that anybody’s opinion matters right now.

If we lose to Denver, I think they pretty much wrap up the division
6-0 against 2-3. Tough to come back from that, and I don’t know that we can beat out the Patriots. Jets, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals for the WildCard.

Notice that the Donks have moved up quite a bit
If we beat ’em on Monday night do we get to trade places on the list?

No
everyone’s that’s calling them “for real” right now will be quick to call them fake if they lose to the Patriots and Chargers in consecutive weeks.

Agreed
Brady has his own Umpire and set of rules. Hard to win if the referees are against you.
After the Steelers loss and two weeks of torture, Norv is definitely gonna pull out all the stops against Denver with two weeks to rest and prep.
Good chance Denver looses both games, and then everyone starts jumping off their band wagon.

9.5 wins. That's where I put them.
Up from 6 before the season began. But they’re only one game ahead of where I had them (I figured they’d lose to Cincy).
