Vincent Jackson arrested for drunk driving
Weak. I guess being a terrific wide receiver doesn't preclude you from being a dangerous dumbass.

Damn
Dangerous, stupid and a huge distraction…

Will never understand how these guys (meaning pro athletes) can’t just take a cab or call a car service

Because they are cocky and drunk
Bad combination.

Why even stop with pro athletes? I’ll never understand how anyone can’t just take a cab.

Was VJ at the Colts game?

Unfortunately
we chose to cover him…thus giving Gates more room to burn us.

Chambers made some important catches too.

Norv should bench him.
Even though I hurt after writing that sentence.

Technically
This is suspicion of DUI. I’m not sure what the legal difference is, but I do believe that the crime is the same, but a good lawyer can more easily get you out if its just suspicion. From the NFL perspective, usually this means that suspensions will wait until the case is resolved since the facts will remain blurry until that occurs. The team still can suspend them, but the article uses the cliche comment from A.J. “Moving forward, we will monitor the situation and have no further comment.” which usually means that they are going to wait it out.
My prediction: He plays.

I would think suspicion
just means he opted for the blood test rather than breathalyzer. So until those results are released, he’s merely suspected of being a drunkard.
If it comes back under .08, suit him up. If not, bench him.

Yup
After Foley and Kiel you would think these guys would catch on.

I did some research
And it seems like almost everyone arrested for DUI is arrested as suspicion. Still, I would think that the results of any tests done on him won’t be released until the evidence is presented in court during his case. Which, I’m pretty sure will be held long after the playoffs are finished.

exactly
it’s “suspicion” until he’s found guilty in court. You know, that whole “innocent until proven guilty” thing

I personally think...
Norv might bench him just to avoid the distraction. If there’s one thing that can kill all the momentum we have, it’s something like this and then having to deal with it every day.
Keep VJ in San Diego and have a breathalyzer installed on his cars. Make sure before the team leaves that he apologizes to everyone. Set the example to each player that this is not a time for foolish mistakes.
On a GM-like note: Benching him for this game makes this offense more public and also makes VJ’s playoff stats go down a bit. Both of which equal him being more affordable next season.

DUI + Probation
= no cars for VJ, unless someone else is driving. IOW, its too late to install the breathalyzer.
Also, distraction?!? Is the San Diego media going to turn into some rabid bloody thirsty mob overnight. In NY, Bos or Philly, this is a distraction. In San Diego its barely noticeable. I heard two Chargers get interviewed today, I think they got asked one question each on VJ and they didn’t say much of anything and the issue was dropped. This is not a distraction.

You're Right
I was under the impression that it would be bigger national news considering there are only 8 teams left in the playoffs and we’re one of them.

Turns out 8 is still a lot
Considering there are also bowl games, college basketball and we’re 3000 miles from Bristol, CO.

If he is benched
we need Malcom Floyd to be activated to take his place.
