He says he would like to stay with the Chargers if possible. Sproles has been great fun to watch, hopefully we will get to see him in powder blues again next season.

Saw it coming...

because nobody has any good idea of what his “value” is. There’s never been a player like him that is a game changing kick returner/punt returner AND could be a big part of the offense, but most likely cannot be a starter. Who would be the closest match? Devin Hester? Leon Washington?

I think Washington’s a closer match because he plays RB and not WR, but I also think Washington is bigger and has more potential to eventually take over as the starter.

A lot of this depends on if there’s anyone out there that loves Sproles and how much he values the Chargers. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him signed to a 3-4 year deal with us, just like it wouldn’t surprise me to see him get a 3 year deal with someone else (New England? Kevin Faulk is getting old). We have enough potential replacements in terms of returners, and since he kindof takes up a spot in the backfield by not being able to move up to number 1 if an injury occurs you cannot spend a ton on him.

New England? Did you just say New Effing England?

hahaha

fantastic picture. and yes i did. NE loves guys like Sproles. guys who can do a number of different things (return kicks and punts, run, catch passes) that are somewhat undervalued because they cannot be number 1 superstars.

in an offense that passes about 80% of the time, Sproles is a hell of a weapon.
