What is happening with today's youth?

Not surprised

Taylor’s a good kid. He wasn’t going to be swayed by the NFL when he wants to finish his degree (mainly for his parents’ sake) and there are worse things you can do than spend another semester or two at SC. God, I miss college.

It's funny

I don’t know the guy and I don’t know much about him personally, but to see a guy who plays with such reckless abandon for his and other players’ safety its funny to hear him talk about how he wants to stay in college to get a degree. I guess the things aren’t mutually exclusive, but you’d think a studious guy would have more common sense about how he goes about hitting people. Not that I have a problem with it. His big high-flying massively-painful-looking hits are why I like the guy.

Well

He wants to learn strong safety, not just be a deep cover guy. He can get that done in his senior year and still maintain his presence. Darnell Bing, a previous USC safety who declared early, has been on 4 teams in 3 seasons. He obviously doesn’t want that to happen to him. Taylor will still get his money and another season will definitely help him.

Bing

Was not projected as a top pick and most agreed that he needed to move to LB in the pros. I think this is a totally different scenario.

He's a 1st round pick, maybe top 10

I can’t believe he’s risking that with another year of college ball. Hopefully it works out for him.
